On Monday July 20th, the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival is joining a coalition of major labor unions and racial and social justice organizations, including SEIU, the Fight for $15 and a Union, the Movement for Black Lives and many more, for the Strike For Black Lives, a national strike day in support of dismantling racism and white supremacy, to bring about fundamental changes in our workplaces, economy, and society.
The strikes, protests, walk-offs, socially distanced sit-ins, and voter registration outreach are happening because thousands and thousands of poor, low-wage workers of every race, creed, and color understand that racial, economic, health care, immigration, climate, and other justice fights are all connected. Sign up now and join us July 20
“Our nation is battling not one, but three pandemics: the COVID-19 virus, poverty, and systemic racism, including brutalization and trauma by police and policy. . . . Frederick Douglass knew that truth spoken in deep love was the only possible hope for this nation. That is why I say, anyone who describes truthful, nonviolent protests today as ‘hateful’ toward America is someone who is comfortable with the status quo of racism and injustice.” – Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II, President, Repairers of the Breach and Co-Chair, the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival.
United for Peace & Justice is proud to be a national mobilizing partner with the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. We’re seeing the power we have to stop the violence against our communities, when we come together and fight back.
Forward together, not one step back! Join us on July 20, for the Strike For Black Lives!
