United for Peace & Justice is tremendously concerned about the ramifications of the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, Iran’s most senior military leader, ordered by President Trump. The assassination authorized by Trump, without consultation with Congress, places the U.S. on the brink of war with Iran. We must demand diplomacy and de-escalation, before another war erupts.
War with Iran would be another bloody disaster, creating massive chaos throughout the region, expanding the wars in the Middle East and continuing endless war. More war will only bring death and destruction to our troops, innocent civilians and the region. There are reams of evidence, beyond what we can see with our own eyes, telling us how ineffective war has been in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Please act now! Email your Senators and Representative asking them to support diplomacy and de-escalation—NO WAR WITH IRAN. Congress needs to reassert its constitutional authority and demand diplomacy and de-escalation before this crisis explodes into open warfare.
This is the crisis many have dreaded ever since Trump recklessly ended the Iran Nuclear Deal and began threatening Iran. Please tell your members of Congress to sponsor, cosponsor, and pass an emergency resolution to restrain Trump before it’s too late.
