Right now, we are hoping to raise $8,000 to provide much needed support and supplies to on-the-ground peace and water protectors. We’ve already raised about $5,000 so far. Your donation will help to bring more peace and justice protectors from across the country to the front lines with resources and to be of use on the front lines at Standing Rock. PLEASE, DONATE BELOW!
As the winter nears, and the threats from DAPL and the police grow greater, Standing Rock has called for the presence of movement allies to aid their struggles and protect their ongoing prayer ceremonies, their water, their land, and their traditions. Please help us get hardworking UFPJ activists here to the Oceti Sakowin Camp in North Dakota.
Right now, UFPJ’s part time staff person, 2 former UFPJ Steering Committee members, a current UFPJ Coordinating Committee member and a long-time UFPJ activist and organizer are on-the-ground in Standing Rock and engaging in volunteer work, trainings, prayer ceremonies and direct action. We’ll have more leaders from the UFPJ network present until we win our fight to stop DAPL and defend the treaties that have been violated. We hope to remain as long as we are needed to support the day-to-day requests of the Standing Rock Sioux.
Keep us here, keep us warm, keep us involved in actions every day to stop the pipeline! Together, we will build a vibrant movement for peace and justice beyond the election cycle.
I think it would give pause to the aggressive tactics used if the protectors were to be able to hire white male security guards to be on the front lines. When the offenders find people who look like themselves, they are likely to act quite differently. Please discuss this idea among yourselves at Standing Rock encampment.
