2015 marks the 70th anniversary of the United States atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It also marks 45 years since the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) entered into force, obligating all States parties to undertake good faith negotiations for the elimination of nuclear weapons.
Instead, the world’s nuclear-armed nations are spending over $100 billion per year to maintain and modernize their nuclear arsenals. The danger of wars among nuclear-armed States is growing, and with it the threat of unimaginable death and suffering.
From April 27 – May 22, 2015 representatives of the 189 members of the NPT, including the original nuclear-armed States (the U.S., Russia, the U.K, France, and China) will come together at the United Nations in New York City to review the Treaty’s operation. The recent Vienna Conference on the Humanitarian Impact of Nuclear Weapons set up the potential for a direct challenge to the nuclear-armed States: States not possessing nuclear weapons will be demanding a new diplomatic process to achieve nuclear disarmament. It is long past time for the world’s governments to implement the global obligation to achieve a nuclear-weapon-free world.
In a demonstration of their determination to build a fair, democratic, ecologically sustainable, and peaceful future, people will gather in New York City and around the world for international days of action April 24 – 26, 2015.
We call upon the parties to the NPT to use the 2015 Review Conference to immediately, without delay, develop a timetable to ban and eliminate all nuclear weapons.
We call upon the four states outside the Treaty that have nuclear arms, India, Israel, North Korea, and Pakistan, to join this process, immediately and without delay.
We are at a crucial juncture, a time when the unresolved tensions of a deeply inequitable society, great power ambitions, and the destructive effects of an unsustainable economic system are exploding into overlapping crises.
Yes to a Nuclear-Free World! Yes to Nonviolence! Yes to Economic Justice and Environmental Sustainability! Yes to Peace!!
I lived my first 18 yrs about 15 miles downstream from Hanford Plutonium plant; drank the water contaminated by radioactive iodine, occasionally got poofed w radioactivity for experiments (documented), Just generally felt that WE were deserving of being a target in Cold War because of causing the horrible civilian deaths in Hiroshima with ‘Big Boy’.
No one should be on either end of this death/dirty$$ business!
Nuclear weapons are not compatible with life on earth. They need to be eliminated.
It is obvious to most people that nuclear weapons cause permanent damage and hurt to all living beings. That people and governments are still playing this game is insane. Stop the madness!!!
All the gardeners and farmers in the world should unite and help eliminate all destructive weapons from our planet . Mother Earth World Garden Club Proposal .
Since Rapacki Plan in 1957 when the Polish Foreign Minister Adam Rapacki on 2 October 1957 presented to the UN General Assembly a limited plan called demilitarization in Central Europe. The proposal provided for the establishment of a nuclear-free zone, which should include the People’s Republic of Poland, the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic. This area was later stage extended to Czechoslovakia.
While the plan was a consensus among the states of the Warsaw Pact, NATO countries rejected it for various reasons.
In the following years Rapacki presented several modified versions of the original plan, but it ultimately failed, so the project was not implemented in reality.
Some years passed since, the nuclear proliferation in other countries has significantly changed the map of the nuclear world where this time “Wave goodbye to nuclear weapons” never was as urgent and important to achieve as at the present, therefore the time has come to wave and say goodbye to all nuclear weapons and all weaponry equipment here on our planet Earth and forever the same time fulfilling the prophesy from the Book of Revelation 11.18
11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
So help us God!

When I think of a nuclear weapon killing my sweet daughter and my two beloved sons, or any of the children of the world, I feel stunned, and can’t believe anybody would want such a thing.

End nuclear war now, before it begins.
