This year, we finally have a real chance of taking legislative action to stop hate crimes. Congress is currently considering the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007 which will give the federal government additional jurisdiction over bias-motivated crimes and give local law enforcement resources to combat these crimes.

THE INTERFAITH ALLIANCE calls on you, and everyone who values tolerance and religious pluralism, to stand up for all people to be free from attacks motivated by bigotry. Call your members of Congress and urge them to support the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007. Ask them to refuse any amendments that would weaken the bill.

Call 202.224.3121 now and ask for your member of Congress.
