PLANS FOR THE DAY

United For Peace and Justice has negotiated with the NYC Police Department and we have been given permits for the following plans for our mobilization on April 4.

Assembly Time: 11:00 AM

Assembly Location: Leonard, Franklin and White Streets, between Broadway and Lafayette St.

This is just south of Canal Street and close to several subway stops.

Canal Street stops on the
J, M, Z lines at Centre Street
6 line at Lafayette Street
N, Q, R, W lines at Broadway
A. C, E lines at Sixth Ave.
Franklin Street stop on the 1 line, at Varick St.

Please check back here right before April 4th and we will post any changes in subway service for April 4th.

  • Veterans, Military Families and Others Associated With the Military -- Leonard Street and Broadway
  • Labor Contingent -- Leonard Street and Broadway
  • Students and Youth Contingent -- Franklin Street (between Broadway and Lafayette)
  • Brooklyn Contingent -- White Street (between Broadway & Lafayette)
  • Government Transparency / Accountability & Prosecution (Leonard & Just West of Lafayette) (The Backbone Campaign's 'Chain-Gang' will be a part of this contingent.
  • Women's Contingent -- Franklin Street & Lafayette
  • Faith-Based Contingent -- Leonard Street & Lafayette
  • War Resisters League Contingent -- Franklin Street & Lafayette
  • Healthcare-NOW and the Private Health Insurance Must GO! Coalition Contingent -- White Street (between Broadway & Lafayette)
  • End Military Aid to Israel Contingent -- White Street and Broadway
  • World Can't Wait Contingent -- White Street and Broadway

March Step Off-Time: 12:00 PM noon

What to Bring: UFPJ will have plenty of signs available for you to carry, but please bring any signs, posters, or banners you want to carry. You can only carry signs/posters/banners on cardboard poles -- no wood, no metal, no pcv or other plastic tubes, nothing except cardboard.

Bring musical instruments or other noise makers, but you cannot have any amplification systems in the march.

March Route: South on Broadway to Wall St., East on Wall St. to Broad St., South on Broad to Exchange Place, West on Exchange Place to Broadway, South on Broadway to Battery Park.
This route is a little less than 1.5 miles and takes us right past the New York Stock Exchange.

The march will end in Battery Park with a Peace and Justice Fair.
